TFT Travels: Le Manoir, Québec

An Italian lunch spot in the heart of French Canada that recharged us with its wholesome food and pretty surroundings.

Le Manoir was a recommendation from our hotel butler. We were tired, had been on the road all morning, it was way past lunchtime, and we needed sustenance ASAP. He sensed we weren’t in the mood for the hotel’s insipid fare, and urged us to make the walk to Le Manoir.

Look at this place! Just sitting here was relaxing. Birds chirping, a light breeze and that incredible blue sky.

I started with the pink lemonade. Very refreshing, and now I always want my lemonade to be pink.

The menu was entirely pasta, so we decided to share two between me and Deval.

This was the house made farfalle with veggies in a tomato cream sauce. Delicious.

Le Manoir’s take on Mac ‘n’ Cheese, the truffle farfalle and cheese with a side of the house salad. Pretty perfect paired with the local craft beer.

Only the best carrot cake of my life. That’s a massive claim but I can’t help it – show me a better carrot cake and I’m happy to eat it. It tasted even better with a cup of hot coffee. (I love the concept of unlimited refills when it comes to good coffee . . .)

Creamy Italian vanilla ice cream with caramel, dark chocolate fudge, jujubes, m&ms, walnuts and diced Mars bars.
