Moga Tourist Dhaba on NH24

After much research, we declare Moga Tourist Dhaba the best option for a pit stop on NH24. Also, it offers some of the lightest, tastiest tandoori rotis you’ll ever have.

On my road trip back from the mountains to Delhi, past the many eateries in Gajraula but before Garhmukteshwar on NH24, lies the grossly under-recognised Moga Tourist Dhaba. With newly renovated bathrooms and tasty food, it’s definitely one of the best options to stop and stretch your legs.

There is something about this highway dhaba that makes food with rustic simplicity such a wholesome meal.

A humble order of Dal Punjabi Tadka (a spicier ‘chhaunkh’ of red chillies, garlic and desi ghee) and aloo zeera with masala papad made for a well deserved halt.

No matter how many places I have eaten Tadka Dal, there is something about this one which makes me long for it on every trip. The aloo zeera was basic, but tasted good.

The best are the tandoori rotis. Never in Delhi or elsewhere do I get to eat such light and crisp, yet soft rotis. Is it the atta, or the water, or just maybe the hands? I am never quite certain but you can eat so many of them without feeling uneasy.

On my previous trips, I have had other things on the menu, also all worth stopping for. Dessert this time was a Vadilal Matka Kulfi to balance the spicy meal.

If you are ever on NH24, stop here for great food.
