Conçu is a French dessert parlour nestled in the lanes of Jubilee Hills. Once you walk through the doors, you need to be reminded that you are not in a chic Parisian cafe.
They specialise in dessert, and you can buy a cup of coffee or tea to accompany yours. Their french style patisserie is elegant, refined and unmatched in my opinion.
Possibly, the only place you can get a fantastic Paris-Brest, a richly complex dark chocolate tart, and the perfect choux bun.
Even their banoffee pie is delicate – now that’s the art of patisserie.
The head chef has years of experience in some of the best professional kitchens all over Europe, and we’re so grateful he decided to open Conçu.
If you ever go on a weekend, you’ll be lucky to get one of the few tables. If your desire to eat their dessert outweighs everything else, you’ll eventually get your turn, and the wait will be well worth it.
Every time I visit, I stand in front of the display counter and choose the perfect looking seasonal fruit tart, or the new creation on the block. Each dessert has been painstakingly created and meticulously decorated.
No piece of fruit is ever irregular and no piece of chocolate ever out of shape.
So much is the attention to detail here that even the outside of the cafe has been beautifully landscaped, and often has seasonal flowers for you to get a lovely view while devouring your mango and mascarpone tart.
Go ahead, feast your eyes.
Each time and every time, it’s just as delicious, just as pretty, and just as perfect. I’d be surprised if you ate just one.
I wish they’d open dessert cafes throughout the country, for you all, of cource. Till then…
